Beloved Horses Kept Save and Sound in Basement While Hurricane Rages Above!
"I love my 2 boys, and during our bad hurricanes in Alabama they get to come in the basement. They are so good while they are in there. We wait till the last minute to bring them in and they will be waiting at the gate ready for shelter. We line the floors with plastic and newspaper. Sometimes we are in there for 12 + hours. Sterling Silver, is almost 30 years old, Mardi Gras Glitter, is only about 8. I just love my boys. Hurricane Ivan put down 40 trees on our property ranging from 40 to 100 ft. Lately, there has been alot in the news about horse abuse and neglect, so I love it when I find someone who goes the extra mile to take such good care of the horses entrusted to her!! Kudos to Virginiamountains1 !!
Saving America's Wild Horses
On June 29, 2009 Gayle Lawrence attended the reception hosted by T. Boone Pickens and his wife, Madeleine Pickens for Congressman Dan Burton of Indiana. Dan Burton is a stanch supporter of anti-horse slaughter legislation. Madeleine Pickens is a vocal supporter of humane solutions for the 33,000 BLM mustangs in holding facilities. The reception was at the Del Mar Country Estate club in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. Woohoo!!
